Science Fiction as Investing Thesis

Just want to take a moment to recognize the on-going great writing that Jerry does over at Reaction Wheel. His latest post is equal parts David Foster Wallace and uh, some VC.

His theory of “Science Fiction” as investment thesis rings true to me. And I wanted to write a long form tweet on my blog to point out that in my experience this means his investments will skew towards awesome engineers. This is probably good.

The reason he will skew toward awesome engineers is because when a suit says he wants to build science fiction, he sounds like an idiot. When a geek says he wants to build science fiction, that is some heavy, heavy shit. I have blogged extensively previously on the magic of a geek wanting to work on science fiction and how I am always looking for those guys also.
